In the Heart of the Saalachtal Valley you can find the "Achberghütte"
(House at the Kramer's Field).

alte hölzerne Balken im Haus mit Schnitzerei Editorial
We have built our Chalêt with old and new materials from our village Unken and the Saalachtal Valley. The house has the most modern eco standard on the inside - but what you get to experience is local history. All the wood you get to see is from an old mail horse stables, which were already used by Napoleon, when he conquered our valley in 1806.

The fassade and a lot of furniture was made of rare oak wood, that was waiting in a forgotten cabin for more than forty years to become part of our house.

All doors are unique pieces which we found in old castles, stables or restaurants. The roof consists of handmade tiles by a small local factory. And all the walkways are made of stones from our two village rivers. All of them we have collected ourselves by hand.

The House at the Kramer's Field is located on a field of more than 12.000 m2, which belonged to the local Kramerwirt, one of Unken's oldest restaurants. It was used for growing the grass for the animals, for the cultivation of grains to bake bread or to store wood from the surrounding forests. We have made this field our garden - with lots of fruit trees, berries, nuts, roses and all kinds of wild flowers. We dedicate our garden back to nature - to the wild spices and the endangered animals - and to our guests.

We have tried to give this place a good spirit. Experience it, live it, feel it - and go on a discovery of your emotions. The quietness of this magical world will accompany you at our place, from the inside to the outside.

Welcome to our house!
Yours truly,

Katharina and Sigi Kamml
